As someone who views things more through an economic than a political or identity related prism, had often wondered how economic hardship was not weighing on the prospects for a third term. How, in the face of inflation, unemployment, tepid household consumption, the Josh could still be so high. Well, the electorate has answered those doubts. The ruling party is indeed fortunate to have fallen just 32 seats short of a majority.

Other politicians would have indulged in reckless socialism during election year, but Modi didn’t. So he is a little different from other politicians.
