    Dear sir,

Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra was in Assam.

When it comes to talk about Indian National Congress, comes a well known face infront of us, a most popular face in India MP Rahul Gandhi. He is well known for his widely popular motives ” To fight against communalism, unemployment, hatred inflation and political centralisation.” Also he’s known for his most successful previous “Bharat Jodo Yatra (Unite India March)” (September 7,2022 to January 30,2023) where he walked publicly, Kanyakumari at the southern part of India to the Union Territory, Jammu and Kashmir, a journey of 4,080 kilometres (2,540 miles) over almost 150 days. It was for better understanding the people of India, what they feel, what they want, where there ideas goes. It was most successful march. Later Congress party attributed its success in the 2023 Karnataka election.

Most recent Indian National Congress started another March called “Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra” led by MP Rahul Gandhi. Which he started on 14th January 2024, from Thoubal in Imphal, Manipur and it’s scheduled to end on 20th March,2024 in Mumbai, Maharashtra (east to west of India). At the beginning when everything was set to start March from Hapta,Kangjeibung in Imphal East. The Chief Minister of Manipur declined to give permission to start March from Hapta, Kangjeibung, palace compound. And later it was confirmed by Manipur Congress Committee President K. MeghaChandra. Then party looked for new location and later it was started from Manipur’s Thoubal district.

After successful march in Manipur and Nagaland, when march entered into Assam, was about to entered into Assam’s Guwahati city, a denial took place on route, it was a permission by Assam government not to proceed through the prime routes in Guwahati city. Main scenario is Congress writes a application to authority for conducting march through the City but it was disapproved by city police, even CM Himanta Biswa Sharma had warned the City police by saying if the march goes straight to the city’s prime routes it maybe create a chaotic situation in these busy routes. Later Congress, by respecting the decision, leader Rahul Gandhi diverted his March to avoid confrontation. The march moves towards lower Assam districts through Guwahati bypass (NH 28, Khanapara – Jayanagar – Basistha, Gorchlk – Lokhra route).

On 22 January, Monday MP Rahul Gandhi was all set to pray, about to enter, in Bordowa Satra (Vaishnavite Monestery), Central Assam’s Nagaon district. Nagaon administration and police denied entry of MP Rahul Gandhi till 3pm, till the Ram Mandir consecration was over. It was scheduled visit in Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, ultimately cancelled. Later Assam Constituent MP Gourav Gogoi tells the press that entry was restricted only for Assam’s outside People , he and others can MP, MLAs can.

Later the clash took place in between Assam police personnel and Congress workers at the Khanapara area, alleged that Assam police has systematically stood by or allowed BJP workers to come closer and closer to the convey of MP Rahul Gandhi’s that’s why stirred violence later. After clash Guwahati police registered a suo motu FIR against Rahul Gandhi and others leaders under Wanton acts of violence in the States capital.

Given the hurdles in the way of Congress party’s Bharat Jodo Naya Yatra led by MP Rahul Gandhi in Assam. It was clearly a indication of predetermined and premeditated hurdles. Some sort of indication that Assam CM would fall to any level of fawning in order to make prime leaders happy in Delhi. Even admitting that the march passed many cities around prior two states, Manipur and Nagaland, many prime routes, but nothing happened there. Why special attention in Guwahati city. It was clearly a sign of fear, fear of upcoming Lok Sabha election.

    Sincerely
    Anmol Debnath

    Thank you
