Unless, we have long-term goals, this country will be bogged down by short-term opportunism.
China literally plans things 50 years in the future. How do you think, they achieved rare earth dominance? They planned from the 1980s. When we were squabbling over insurgencies and later over reservations.
I am certain the Editor will live well past 90. I will not. So eyes glaze over when 2047 is declared as the date when India will become a developed economy. Or, as another senior personage has said, will have a GDP of $ 30 trillion. 2. Better instead to first render an accurate account of economic milestones that have been achieved since 2014. Laid against what was promised on the election trail. Since statistics is not my forte, consider simple metrics like wasted, stunted children. Even in the industrially more developed states. Reliable supply of drinking water in summer to all villages.
While you are correct in pointing out that Viksit Bharat 2047 is a tall order and the current Govt is runnig out of ideas for the ‘impatient’ Gen Z, the real question is what vision are any of the ‘alternatives’ bringing which might accelerate that 2047 goal. Everyone of these politicians are great at articulating the opposite numbers shortcoming, but no one is intrested in offering a clear path or vision or solutions on how to become a developed nation. And the problem lies with us citizens, for not asking that clarity.
No party will be able to do miracle In India. It just an incremental growth can do. provided things are under our favour. That should be realized by people. All parties are just copycat of each other.

The third-rate socialist well knows that corrupt, poor, and socialist India cannot become a developed country by 2047.
2047 now looks more like the communist utopia. Relevant only to win elections and zero evidence in execution in last 12 years.
