UGC has asked all universities to encourage students to take Kamdhenu Gau Vigyan Prachar-Prasar Examination that will test people's knowledge of 'cow science'.
In its latest guidelines, UGC asks institutes to extend teaching hours in a day and adhere to a six-day schedule so classes can be conducted in phases to ensure social distancing.
UGC directs all universities to submit a follow-up update following reports that a large number of posts reserved for SCs, STs and OBCs among teaching and non-teaching staff were vacant.
Titled ‘Guidance document – Good academic research practices’, the UGC document also calls for setting up an office at each institution to ensure best practices.
The Supreme Court bench was also informed by the UGC that it will commence the academic calendar for UG courses from 31 October, by which time the results of the retest will be out.
The top court asked the two education bodies to work in tandem to ensure that the careers of two lakh students isn't jeopardised in these exceptional times.
The UGC has mandated universities to conduct final-year exams by September-end. The states and students are fighting against this. The court reserved its verdict Tuesday.

They will destroy the credibility of Indian technology institutes. IITs were created by Nehru, how can they tolerate that.

Well, if Messiah Modi can essentially fire 2 highly qualified economists viz. Raghuram Rajan and Urjit Patel who were RBI Governors and replace them by an RSS quack, well, then anything is possible in Modistan.
I can corroborate your anecdote with the medical researcher having to put “bovine technology” to get funding with an anecdote of my own. A close relative who is a researcher in metallurgy was also asked by his directors to justify how his research would also lead to potential benefits for “cow science” simply to get funding. The researchers knew that they were “bull shitting” but did what was needed to get much needed funding from the Hindutva monkeys. That in essence is the state of research in India. Sad, but true.
No need for IAS exams. Qualify in cow science and add shakha drill in your CV, and you will be top bureaucrat ! That is the thinking behind Modi’s recent comment about IAS. All top posts will be filled by Sanghis. Even the middle class bhakts who send their children to top English medium schools to get non-Vedic education (and did well so far out of conventional education), will have to dumb down and accept the rule of gau sevaks and other vigilantes who will demand money for temples.

Why not make an IIT class institution for Cow Science ? Or better still, force the IITs to offer a Bachelor of Cow Engineering ?
