Khan’s visit to China was a total failure, he did not secure any funds….china did not agree to give any funds….all that he got was a statement that said “blah blah blah..China and Pakis are all weather friends”….What is the article blabbering about? do you guys at the print even think before writing.
We tend to attach importance to optics, charisma, interpersonal chemistry. These don’t matter at all in global diplomacy, except as a prop. The Chinese would have received Nawaz Sharif with the same warmth, or even General Bajwa, if Pakistan had opted for another spell of military rule. 2. At one level, PM Imran Khan has failed to secure the financial assistance he was seeking. China is dealing with the unfolding trade war with America, rebalancing in its economy, headwinds on BRI. Not in a mood to write out a large aid cheque. Saudi Arabia’s $ 6 billion is effectively a twelve month hand loan. Pakistan will have to go to the IMF and undertake structural reforms.
