Pakistan's SSG team was not adequately provisioned for the inclement weather. If it managed to consolidate its position, the story of Siachen would have been different.
The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz eases supply fears, but controlled shipping, slow output recovery, and high costs may delay oil flow normalisation for months.
This special edition of Cut The Clutter, straight from the Siliguri corridor, details the strategic importance of the narrow strip of land in West Bengal, and how it’s a vital link connecting the Northeast to the rest of India.
American objectives are unmet. They neither have muscle nor motivation to resume the war. As for Iran, the regime didn’t just survive, it’s now led by more radical individuals.
Hi The Print! Hi Mr. Shekhar Gupta!
We are indeed touched and deeply moved by your concern for Goa tourists.
For a change, why don’t you have an editorial take on the gross injustice meted out to Sharmishtha Panoli by the Kolkata Police. The fact that she got arrested for exercising her freedom of expression, however crude, should make you rant and rail. The vindictive manner in which Kolkata Police handled the case and arrested her swiftly is clearly a case of Muslim appeasement by the TMC government.
To add to it, the accuser Wajahat Khan has hone missing. Police forces from multiple states have been looking for him for objectionable comments on Hindu goddesses and he is untraceable. The fact that a person of such antecedents was allowed to file a case against Ms. Panoli and the Kolkata Police took it so seriously speaks volumes about the oppression and discrimination an average Hindu is being subjected to in the state of West Bengal. It is very clear that Ms. Panoli is being harassed and intimidated in order to please the Islamist votebank of Mamata Banerjee. The very same Islamist jihadis who had killed, raped and plundered Hindus in Murshidabad a few days ago – all under the patronage of the TMC govt.
You guys were prompt in putting out an editorial on the arrest of Ali Khan Mahmudabad. In fact, you took things further and slammed the Supreme Court for it’s observations on Mr. Mahmudabad. Where is your sense of justice and fairness now?
Or is it your case that “freedom of speech” only belongs to Muslims in India?
Public debt on track to hit $ 40 trillion. Interest rates will harden to 5% as the USD loses some of its AAA sheen. An annual interest outgo of $ 2 trillion.
