Simulating war and supplying hot meals using swarm of drones to forward posts. It recently constructed Hele pad in military hospital for faster treatment of wounded soldiers in war. What General Naravane said makes a good sense but the delivery of various technologies and platforms have to happen through DRDO. Unless DRDO takes up these projects with gusto, we can talk and talk but not achieve much. Hence, the push for this initiatives from the highest political level is a must.
The assertion that “Chinese army has not fired a single bullet in last many years and yet it can project its power and others believe in it” needs to be tested on the ground and not just accepted. While taste of pudding is in eating it, no one is going to war to test the Chinese might. And we will presume it be so and work on that assumption for our strategies. When we had the opportunity at Dokalam, we did not fire a bullet to test them; though we stood up to them and check mated them effectively, something which has not happened for many years since 1967. Hence, until we are able to make as much show backed by our own indigenous technology, we will be treated as inferior power to China.
Pakistan, a bankrupt country totally dependent USA and China for equipment, could make us miserable by just firing a few AMRAMs and effectively using AWACS. This shows that while we have grand plans (with perhaps empty pockets) and prepare for the two front full scale long duration wars, obvious weaknesses in our defenses as exploited by Pakistan, were allowed to persist. Hence, beyond strategic vision, we need to take care of today and tomorrow as well and optimize it within the allocated budgetary resources.
