Men esp. desi men are famously stupid and illogical but this is a new low – though hardly unexpected. One would honestly struggle to find a woman or even young girl who has not been shot lewd remarks in the streets or creepy private messages from random desperate men online. We say men are superior and I would say there might be an ounce of truth to that… But isn’t it about rationality? Decision making skills? Understanding? Physical strength? But they don’t use their brains; No idea what they’re saving it for – I guess the rational thought goes into getting around safeguards, decision making into picking the next prey (lust object), understanding is used to outwit the guardrails, and physical strength to domineer and boss around?
My online presence has always been faceless and impersonal, yet even I have not been spared the (dis)honour. Now this gave me one more reason to keep my presence faceless as always. I don’t even see it as self-censorship, it’s a return to modesty, the only way forward – regulations, legal remedies are symptomatic patches at best.
