India’s series loss in South Africa, the so-called ‘final frontier’, is obviously very disappointing. It’s also obvious that India’s batting has to shoulder much of the blame. Now’s the time to thank Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane for their services to the team and reboot the middle-order with new talent.

Spate of resignations by MLAs and ministers, weeks before elections in UP, is a blow to BJP. OBC leaders deserting BJP is bad for public perception and messaging. It bolsters SP’s prospects among non-Yadav OBCs. It’s a lesson for BJP strategists who imported these defectors from other parties in 2015-17.
