New Delhi: On Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s birthday Wednesday, good wishes came in from all quarters — from West Bengal ChiefMinister  Mamata Banerjee, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati to members of his own party. The one wish which stood out was from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After having called him “Pappu” and his father, Rajiv Gandhi, “bhrashtachari” number one, Modi wished Rahul good health and a happy birthday. His was the only one Rahul replied to with thanks. Maybe we will see another ‘hug’ moment in Parliament?

On Tuesday, when AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi took oath in the Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament he was heckled by BJP members shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Owaisi took it rather sportingly, as you can see.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar went to the SKMCH Hospital in Muzaffarpur to check on the mounting death toll due to AES. He put out multiple pictures to corroborate his visit. Looks like Mr. Kumar is taking a cue from his alliance partner and upping his PR game.

BSP chief Mayawati announced that she will not attend PM Modi’s all party meet on ‘one nation, one election’ because it does not address pertinent issues, like the EVM crisis, and is a divisive tactic. We missed your clapbacks, ma’am.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath introduced us to a possible apprentice. Honestly, sir, do we need any more?

NCP leader Ajit Pawar is very angry at Maharashtra finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar for releasing some budget points on Twitter and is demanding an investigation. Sir, what about the budget itself?

Boris Johnson, former mayor of London and present MP from Uxbridge, tweeted that Britain must leave the EU by 31 October with or without a deal, to restore trust in politics and to unite the country. We might just be listening to the next PM of Britain.
