On the other hand, caste has become invisible in India but is practised in a more subtle, covert manner. In bureaucracy, officers are also discriminated based on their caste; they hardly have any presence at the policy level posts despite being eligible and competent. No doubt, India is comfortable with caste and discrimination based on it.
