J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik says Friday’s killing of 3 special police officers shows militants’ desperation, because security forces have taken upper hand.
It was in early 1967 that Haryana, then less than a year old, witnessed its first assembly election. That poll season, Gaya Lal, an independent MLA, jumped ship twice within a few hours and thrice in 15 days to be a part of the new government.
BJP insiders say party chief Amit Shah wanted to finalise the tickets on the basis of winnability and early announcement could have affected this process
The political winds blowing in India should provide an insight into the military leadership, and the scope and nature of the challenges to its basic values.
India’s defence sector is trying to penetrate the African market. But with China already extending significant influence, India must now play catch-up.
Discussion about outcome of Lok Sabha polls continues to boil in cauldron of expectations only from BJP. Now reverse this equation, what if we asked about the performance of the 'loser'?
From all that we see, including the observations on the Communists, the only conclusion is that NO PARTY (except Lalu’s RJD) likes, or trusts the Congress.
“Even the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suffered defections from their ranks last year despite being in power. The lone Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) minister in the Karnataka coalition government resigned from his post last week.”
The Author’s thoughts seem to be muddled. The lone BSP minister in Karnataka coalition government resigned from his post last week because he was directed by his party to do so. Let me explain to the author the lone BSP minister was neither a member of the Congress party not that of the Janatha Dal (S). If he had not resigned and continued in the cabinet, after a directive from his party, that could have lead to defection.
The poor man, the majority voter, who has suffered excruciating hardships, insecurity, even insults during the last four odd years of Modi rule holds the VETO POWER. All the politicians who are presently feeling clever by jumping parties, “securing” their positions etc will have to reorient their assessments after the assembly election results. The voters’ clear verdict will be that they want ONE CLEAR LOSER — the BJP. This they will demonstrate by a significant drop in BJP vote share in each and every state.
This swing of voter’s mood will dictate to opposition politicians how to join or not join a particular party, how to cobble together a group of parties to TOGETHER SURPASS the BJP vote share that will be evident on 11 December. This BJP vote share will more or less REMAIN CONSTANT over the subsequent five months or so, at the time of the Lok Sabha elections, because the big charm or trust of Mr Modi as the captain of the ship has COMPLETELY disappeared. So the possibility that for assembly elections voters will give XYZ percent vote to BJP, but INCREASE that percentage in the bigger election due to Mr Modi, is absolutely ZERO.
What a stuff of un-ambiguity and preserveness of
valuable experience concerning unexpected feelings.
