Dhurandhar 2 was a very well made movie, better than Dhurandar 1. Movies have always had a political tilt, whether left or right.
I think the violence definitely has a role in this movie- it brings home to the viewer that the safe world she sees around her comes at the cost of immense violence that others deal with all their lives. And that ultimately, violence is a sad, brutal way to live, but maybe Indians are not being given a choice. Maybe that’s what makes Shobha De and people like her uncomfortable.
I find it astonishing that no one has yet mentioned the detail that I found unacceptable. This was the glorification of a serving NSA. In a democracy, such glorification of bureaucrats is dangerous.
