BJP & JDU to contest on 17 seats each, LJP gets 6 in Bihar seat-sharing deal for Lok Sabha

Amit Shah made the announcement in presence of Nitish Kumar and Lok Janshakti Party chief and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan.

New Delhi: BJP and its Bihar allies Sunday sealed the seat-sharing arrangement for the Lok Sabha elections with BJP president Amit Shah announcing that his party and the JD(U) will contest 17 seats each, while the LJP will get the remaining six in the state.

Shah made the announcement here in the presence of JD (U) president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Lok Janshakti Party chief and Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan.

The LJP will also be given a Rajya Sabha berth and Paswan is likely to be its candidate. -PTI

  1. Ram Vilas Paswan is the smoothest operator in Indian politics. With near zero, or minimal mass base, he has survived politically the longest. And has always wangled respectable ministries. This time he has taken full benefit of Kushwaha’s exit from NDA. The BJP is so much on the back foot that they didn’t have the courage to call his bluff. If he were to become a part of Congress-RJD gatthbandhan, I doubt if he would have got six seats.

  2. Just a stray thought. If Shri S S Chouhan, widely respected for his work, failed to win this recent election, one wonders how Shri Nitish Kumar will fare.
