Kolkata: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani Thursday announced Rs 10,000-crore fresh investment in West Bengal over and above the Rs 28,000 crore corpus pumped in so far.
“Today, our investments stand at Rs 28,000 crore in West Bengal alone, and we have firmed up our plan for further investment of over Rs 10,000 crore,” Ambani said at the inaugural session of Bengal Global Business Summit here.
Most of the investments would be from Reliance Jio.
Jio network will cover 100 per cent of the state’s population, he said.

We have invested Rs 15000 crore in our current projects in Jio (telecom), retail in West Bengal and are continuing to invest. This may hit Rs 20,000 crore in the near future. We are looking at another project in the state, a senior Reliance official said earlier in August 2018.
The official also mentioned that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had mentioned at an event in the city during the day about Reliances new project in the state and said it will take shape in the next 15 days.
