The NDA government’s self-appointed posture of legislating to criminalise triple talaq clearly shows less-than-honourable motives. It doesn’t behove a government to act in such a manner.
The primary purpose of criminal law is ‘prevention’ of an act; if non-criminal means can succeed in preventing this act, criminal law need not be used.

JP Nadda recently appointed in-charges and co-in-charges in 23 states. The problem is that he made these appointments five days after his term as party president was supposedly over.
It is learnt the last time this particular area saw such terrorist activity was in 2001. The area is Hindu-dominated, and closer to Himachal Pradesh than Jammu.

I agree with you on most of the part. I can also substantiate the resource scarcity from my side. A year back, I was contacted by a recruiter for the same role for an insurance giant. Since I’m already in a full-time job, I didn’t show much interest. 4 months later the same recruiter contacted me again to check if I’ve changed my mind about my availability. I said I didn’t change my mind and I asked him if he couldn’t find anyone. He said it was very tough to find a resource. In fact, he was only one of the many vendors working with that insurance company. Which means that all the vendors were trying to hunt but in vain.
This problem started getting public attention not just today, but at least more than 15 years ago. If my memory serves right, CNN had highlighted this issue in 2001 itself. Lou Dobbs had explained this problem in detail in his program “Exporting America” then. In my opinion, it has been snowballing but no one from our side cared to pay much attention to it.
The problem lies equally with the Indian outsourcing companies as well. They kept pumping in thousands and thousands of candidates from India. Non-availability of the software engineers is true, but what about the managers ? It’s hard to believe that they couldn’t find American managers (project/ program/account)
Adding fuel to the fire, these outsourcing companies were found to exploit the law and found abusing the system and hence fined heavily. And then happened the Southern California Edison and Walt Disney fiasco. Though the Court had given clean chit in the latter case, the argument put forward by the Indian outsourcing companies clearly shows how the loophole has been used.
I’m also sad that hundreds of thousands of H1B holders who contribute to the US economy – which very easily run into billions of dollars – are being made scapegoats. Unfortunately, they’re not the vote bank and there’s no lobby group that can effectively represent them.
The critical “STEM skill shortage” is actually a critical shortage of workers in the US with STEM skills who are willing to work for India wages. That “skill” will always exist so long as workers in India are paid far less than US workers. There are plenty of STEM workers in the US who will work for higher wages. Get the story straight. No shortage of workers. Only a critical shortage of business owners willing to pay a fair wage to tech workers.
