The Congress party should ask him a few legal questions for this slander – – if indeed it is just that. He must realize that EVEN THOUGH HE’S A BJP MAN, people expect a respectable behavior from a man of his age and educational qualifications.

Let the truth come out. If you acquire citizenship of other country, than India by naturalization you cease to be Indian national even if you are born in India as per Indian laws. There are millions of Indians have acquired other countries citizenship, also called NRI even after loosing Indian citizenship, but allowed to have unlimited stay and visit in India. Such persons can’t contest election or vote in any Indian election.
Foreign citizens of Indian origins are no longer NRIs. They are either classified as Overseas Citizen of India OR People of India Origin. Both these categories enjoy same economic rights as most NRIs but are barred from a number of important activities which include no voting rights, no right to contest for a political post, and perhaps no right to buy agricultural land. I won’t be surprised that Rahul Gandhi holds foreign citizenship. Otherwise there should be no hesitation in producing the right documents.
