It would be a disservice to the women of Hassan to look at Prajwal Revanna’s alleged abuse of power as a ‘sex scandal’. Allegations against him show what ‘absolute power corrupts absolutely’ actually means.
Companies are borrowing more from banks and public. Economists say high capacity utilisation & growing new orders could set stage for renewed investment push by India Inc.
New Delhi has, in past, too, objected to Chinese construction activities in Shaksgam Valley. Work in this strategic region gathered pace after the 2017 Doklam stand-off.
A theme has not yet emerged for BJP & people see lack of a contest, which makes it unexciting. For all these reasons, 2024 is turning out to be an unexpectedly theme-less election.
Hindu rapping / killing a fellow Hindu OR Hindu rapping / killing a non-Hindu is not matter of concern for these morons, they will only look at did Non- Hindu perpetrate this so that they can encash and get mileage out of it.
Ha Ha. This is whataboutery from the editorial. Making a false equivalence between TJ gatherings that resulted in deaths and infections all over the world and non existent cases from non existent gatherings in Ayodhya, church meetings in Louisiana and S Korea. No wonder journalists have such low credibility.
Poor comparison talk about xian and Muslim organisation, there has been no public meeting at Ayodhya. Yogi went there as individual and didn’t made it a congregation.
Yes, stupidity cannot be forgiven. It should be treated as a CRIME if stupidity can cause deaths. But it should be left at that, and punished at that level. I have noticed that some people are nudging us to see a CONSPIRACY in the stupidity of Tablighi Jamat. I think that would be an unfair extrapolation, unless there are credible evidences that lead to such a belief. Some FIRs have been lodged, let’s wait and see what emerges our of those interrogations.
It will become long and boring if I ask if there is any precedence in which stupidity was indeed treated as a crime and “not forgiven”? Well one that even I can remember is the Sabrimala stampede. There have been many stampedes over the years but I don’t remember others details now. I have also heard the phrase “criminal negligence” which is different from stupidity, and more punishment-worthy, because only an otherwise intelligent man can commit criminal negligence whereas stupidity is committed by a simple idiot, but I can’t think of an example where even the criminal negligence was punished as an actual crime. So, which one is the present one, the Tablighi Jamat one? Stupidity, criminal negligence, or outright conspiracy?
Let me add some more confusion. It is very clear that the “conspiracy” bit is being insinuated by the BJP and the Hindutva brigade. My insinuation (or an honest question) is this – – “was it a conspiracy of the BJP leadership, and on their behest, of some officers in high posts, to GIVE LONG ENOUGH ROPE to the organizers of the Tabligh to commit the stupidity?” I briefly saw on some TV channel, one Tablighi fellow saying something like… some letters were written to government departments which were not answered, and Visas were issued to participants from abroad etc. I don’t know!
Use your Arabic name, this is India not Arabia and no arabi nonsense would be allowed in this country.
mr bhatia has unnecessarily streched the issue to undesireable level for reason best known to him . the matter is as simple as cake . bjp desperately needed an issue to target muslim community after the shaheen bagh proteat was over . it was god sent opportunity for them . the bjp prpaganda machinery got on the job. thre is no need to think much about the whole issue.
Nobody has to make much effort especially gems from the community, like that Infosys employee, provide so much fodder.
which God
hmm.. ok.. but which God?
Looks like you are badly burnt. The truth does that.
The Lord grants no exemption on such grim occasions. At senior levels in government, all meetings should almost invariably be by video conference. Recall that poignant photograph of a solitary Pope blessing an empty St Peter’s square. Even after this pandemic passes, some thought should be given to the safety and security aspects of millions of devotees coming together in confined spaces.

So tell me, Shekar Gupta, how many people did Yogi infect?
As of 1st April, there are more than 400 infections and > 2000 quarantines from Tabhligi Jamaat.
False equivalence is one of the games played by the Left-Liberals to protect their favoured religion.
