India’s 21-day lockdown will not work unless politicians making the rules follow them

People made a mockery of the 21-day lockdown on day one, especially in states that celebrated Ugadi and Gudi Padwa. But UP CM Yogi Adityanath was the biggest violator with his event to shift idols of Ram Lalla. If leaders break the rules they make, what’s there to stop the people?

KCR shoot-at-sight order unwise. People must be urged to comply with lockdown, not threatened

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s threat of shoot-at-sight orders to enforce the 21-day coronavirus lockdown is reckless and unwise. Governments must use their persuasive powers to gain the confidence and cooperation of their citizens, especially in times of crises. Any coercion or threat from the government will be counter-productive.

  1. If ignorant people are free to give their political motivated views through PRINT, it is a shame. Look at Italy, Britain, Spain , China .
If force is not used to stop people from spreading the covid-19 , where eill our country land into. This is not a time to criticise our Government rather it is time to support the way the Gov wamnt to apply brake on further spread of this Pandemic.
Our media should behave in sensible way as we all know , we Indians ( Intellectuals and secular ) have a tendency to oppose what ever step Govt of India undertakes . Pray the almighty to bless at least good senses .

  2. Business Standard reports that 5,00,000 trucks are stuck at state borders, their drivers without food and water. Many of them are carrying essential commodities. A fine administrator like CM KCR – with half of his family in the Cabinet – should be untangling these knots.

  3. This is a time when governments need to be doing all they can to help deeply troubled citizens. Each well off family should also try to show a little generosity to those within its immediate circle of contact. As always, the Sikh community shows its fine character.

    • This is the time where people do so much and cooperate with the governments. You can complain on silly things. We need to survive with meagre resources.

      • I am NOT communal but this guy ashok is the first to applaud any community and squirms when Hindus play a positive role. Selective applauder!!! Highlighting community over humanity is a wrong approach. I am sure Jain community is also doing their bit and many others on an individual level. The starting point could be TO PAY monthly retainer-ship money to the maids for the entire duration for which they are forced to stay at home.
