New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh was the epicentre of a Twitter storm after the 20-year-old gang rape victim from Hathras was cremated by the police in the dead of the night Wednesday and without her family present.
Meanwhile, a trial court in Lucknow finally gave a verdict in the 28-year-old Babri Masjid demolition case, acquitting all accused including veteran BJP leaders L.K. Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi.
As was to be expected, there was much gusto among BJP leaders.
Here are a few ‘celebratory’ tweets from Ram Madhav, B.L. Santhosh and P. Muralidhar Rao. Please note, Santosh and Madhav have not said anything about the victim of the Hathras gang rape.
Verdict is a vindication that it’s a spontaneous outburst of disappointed millions of devotees. Central regime was not sincere in delivering the justice was a powerful feeling shared by all of them.#BabriMasjidDemolitionCase

All 32 accused acquitted in the Babri building demolition case . Court rules out any conspiracy behind the demolition . Considers the demolition a spur of the moment .
TRUTH PREVAILS .

Truth triumphs. CBI court’s acquittal in Babri conspiracy case was long overdue. A malicious case against some of the most respected leaders of our nation has fallen aside finally after 3 decades. Everyone should welcome d judgement

On the other end, Congress’ Srivatsa Y.B. spares no sarcasm on the ‘real’ cause of the Babri Masjid demolition:
Sangh Parivar Leaders took out a Rath yatra, collected shovels & bricks, assembled thousand of people & shouted 'Ek Dhakka Aur do, Babri Masjid Tod do’
But apparently all this was not a pre-planned conspiracy!
It took 28 years for the courts to say #BabriMasjid fell on its own.

CPI(M)’s Sitaram Yechury and poet Meena Kandasamy wonder if the mosque demolished itself.
A complete travesty of Justice.
All charged with criminal conspiracy to demolish Babri Masjid acquitted.
It self imploded?
The Constitution Bench headed by then CJI had said that demolition was an “egregious” violation of law.
Now this verdict!
Shame.https://t.co/fAeTHwhhDg— Sitaram Yechury (@SitaramYechury) September 30, 2020
Babri Masjid demolished itself.
Is there anything else to expect from a judiciary which paved the way for temple construction, a judiciary that has constantly given clean-chit to massacres of entire Dalit villages, a judiciary which upholds Manu Dharma? https://t.co/psjjhJaB5d

AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi takes to poetry to express his anguish at the verdict.

Activist Kiruba Munuswamy says the Hathras gang rape and the Babri Masjid demolition verdict tell us about India. Read to find out what.
If demolition of Babri-masjid was not pre-planned and the #HathrasCase is not caste-based, what are they then?
A casteist Hindu majoritarian culture of impunity?

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is scathing about the UP government, comparing it to the accused in the Hathras case.

Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed calls for UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s resignation and the party’s Uttar Pradesh President Ajay Kumar Lallu backs her up.
The #Hathras police's refusal to register a case, the midnight cremation of the victim to destroy evidence, all this couldn't happen without the backing of @myogiadityanath. Women are not safe in UP till a man who has more than10 IPC sections against him remains CM!#YogiResignNow

pic.twitter.com/OUc5oHGPJD

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party have some strong words for the Yogi Adityanath government.
Yogi's police didn't cremate the victim, they burned her to save the rapists. #HathrasHorrorShocksIndia

हाथरस की पीडिता का पहले कुछ वहशियों ने बलात्कार किया और कल पूरे सिस्टम ने बलात्कार किया। पूरा प्रकरण बेहद पीड़ादायी है।

Actor Arjun Rampal asks a hard-hitting question of us all.
A 19 year old soul succumbs to her injuries, dies. Her last memories of complete brutality and fear. How can anyone RIP after this? #Hathras #castesystems #capitalpunishment

TMC’s Mahua Moitra rages against the UP police’s attitude and actions, blaming it on ‘Modi’s New India’.
Cremating Hathras rape victim in the dead of the night without informing the family
Modi’s New India
Yogi’s New Laws
India’s New Low
— Mahua Moitra (@MahuaMoitra) September 30, 2020
And in the midst of all this criticism, UP CM Yogi Adityanath takes an oath.

Singer T.M. Krishna’s outrage finds a different kind of expression.
I am responsible for every caste abuse, rape and murder in this country.
We have to acknowledge our own culpability in every such act.

And after a rather ‘interesting’ first presidential debate, full of insults and name-calling, this is what US President Donald Trump and Democrat candidate Joe Biden had to say:
The American people want LAW & ORDER — Joe Biden won’t even say those words!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 30, 2020
You heard a lot come out of President Trump’s mouth. Can you name one thing he said to actually make your life better?

Muslims complain when one mosque is demolished. But they never raise their voices when Hindu temples are demolished in pakistan and Bangladesh. When they are selective in their protests, is it any wonder nobody cares?
