India needs urgent police reforms, otherwise political parties will continue to shield Vikas Dubeys, turning them into rich politicians with no fear of law.
It may be rare for an IPS officer to have the ability to hog the limelight in the midst of a political-cum-Bollywood spectacle, Gupteshwar Pandey is a police officer like no other.
Vikas Dubey’s manhunt had all ingredients of a pot boiler—a revenge seeking police, an administration that cheers extra-judicial killings, and a screaming media.
Uttar Pradesh, our largest state by population and most powerful, is also the worst governed. A state with 1-in-6 Indians has no hope because of its size.
For many social media users, gangster Vikas Dubey was first and foremost a Brahmin — a ‘tiger’ whose killing is just another ‘atrocity’ on the community under 'Thakur' CM Yogi Adityanath.
ASI survey led by Amalananda Ghosh proved with facts, evidence and precision that it’s not solely Pakistan or India but both were home to the 5000-year-old civilisation.
India’s industrial output growth saw a 10-month low in June, with Index of Industrial Production (IIP) growing by mere 1.5% as against 1.9% in May 2025.

Standing up to America is usually not a personal risk for a leader in India. Any suggestions of foreign pressure unites India behind who they see as leading them in that fight.
Rubbish. No reform can improve police till its leaders show the spine. The failure of all police is equivalent to the failure of its leaders – most of them are IPS officers. When a politician says them not to register an FIR against Vikas Dube and not to investigate, why do they listen to him rather than following the Criminal Procedure Code which entitles a police station chief to proceed ahead? These leaders prefer Status quo, good postings and no inconvenience to their family. This is in spite of they having the most safe job in the world which can not be taken by anyone except the President and Supreme Court. The day they will decide to adhere to the law and not to the politician, will change everything.
I can safely extend the stupid argument of the author that “Killing of gangsters can’t end the cromes” or “Hanging the rapist can’t end the rape crimes”. I can safely say that killing of journalists can’t end the media Industry. So don’t cry when a journalist is killed by a gangster at will
I think this just a puppet game play. So there should be a proper investigation to reveal who are the back stage players.
