Narendra Modi is India’s 14th prime minister and has been in power since May 2014. He is the first prime minister to have been born after Independence. Modi is a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has served as Gujarat Chief Minister from 2001 to 2014. His Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, though, is in Uttar Pradesh, and Modi has represented this seat since 2014.
Narendra Modi joined the RSS, the BJP’s ideological parent, in the 1970s and joined the BJP in 1987. The following year he was chosen as the party’s general secretary for Gujarat. Modi took oath as Gujarat CM in 2001, after replacing Keshubhai Patel, who was held responsible for the government’s poor response to the Bhuj earthquake. Modi contested his first-ever election in 2002, shortly after which the Gujarat riots fueled controversy over his leadership. The Supreme Court in 2022 gave a clean chit to Modi and 63 others in a plea exploring a larger conspiracy behind the riots.

NaMo ‘s independence day speech does not kindle any optimism because his mindset and pschye remains stuck up in complacency and
self-emulatory allusions not bothering about the stark ground realities and grave challenges the nation is face to face with ! More than four years ago he did trap the electorate with utopian, fallacious and tempting promises ! It is “status quo” scenario at present !
His body language during the address to the nation ironically did not reflect any innovation and intention to learn from the past bitter
experiences and blunders to effect improvements in the future to make India a “developed nation”!
It amazingly appeared as if it was not a Prime Minister addressing the nation with pleasant dreams and visions for the times to come but an election campaigner eyeing ensuing Lok Sabha Polls due in May,2019 ! He is living in fool’s paradise to dream of remaining in the hot seat for a number of terms without delivering the goods but thriving on sheer ploys, rhetorics, eloquence and false promises ! It once clicked but time is a Great Leveller too !
The PM during his address boasted that India is the sixth largest economy of the world but he should have understood the difference and yawning gap between numbers first and sixth !
He talked of world viewing India as a nation hit by policy paralysis patting his rule for taking bold decisions ! But he again relied on
lies and falsehood on this solemn occasion not speaking the truth. What to talk of Policy Paralysis in the past in India, there is no policy at all now because NaMo himself is the policy in India(two in one) none else ?
He asserted that country was brimming with self-confidence forging ahead with a sense of new commitment ! Do the ever mounting incidents of lynching in various parts of the nation with impunity, a sense of fear and venom of hatred being spread every now and then, bear testimony to the fact that Self-Confidence is in real sense brimming in India !
Why did not NaMo substantiate his achievements with sound statistics pertaining to unearthing black money and bringing it back from Swiss and other foreign banks ?
He was silent and at his wits end to come up with his policies and plans to encounter burning problem of unemployment in India !
He did not say anything worthwhile regarding “his” future plans and policies how to eradicate the curse of poverty from India ?
He made himself a butt of ridicule by saying that for almost more than sixty six years country was at a standstill whereas his more than four years rule did work wonders magically ! He should have remembered that self-praise was no recommendation! Let the masses echo so, only then it can be deemed a reality otherwise it is nothing more than fiction !
