It would be a disservice to the women of Hassan to look at Prajwal Revanna’s alleged abuse of power as a ‘sex scandal’. Allegations against him show what ‘absolute power corrupts absolutely’ actually means.
Companies are borrowing more from banks and public. Economists say high capacity utilisation & growing new orders could set stage for renewed investment push by India Inc.
New Delhi has, in past, too, objected to Chinese construction activities in Shaksgam Valley. Work in this strategic region gathered pace after the 2017 Doklam stand-off.
A theme has not yet emerged for BJP & people see lack of a contest, which makes it unexciting. For all these reasons, 2024 is turning out to be an unexpectedly theme-less election.
This problem goes back decades, my brother (27 year old Londoner) disappeared without a trace in June 1982, literally a week or so after arriving in Manali. No proper investigation, all hushed up and no contact ever pursued with our family by police or authorities. His name was John Dignam, have never had any news or information about him, we assume foul play or accidental death, but without a body my parents (now deceased) could never grieve for him properly.
Oh please spare us with the bull. Agnihotril for saying the locals are not under any suspicion and neither is the drug trade responsible for these incidents is either the most dellusional and underesving superidendent ever. OR she she is simply burying her head in the sand , knowingly, to avoid the issue at hand for whatever reason.
These guys are literally shifting the blame on to everything from the weather here , to the Nepali Porters.
I am from Manali, and never like going towards kasol side anymore because almost everything there, from the small Cafe’s ,to very large and fancy hotels, are built on drug money, OR to cater to tourists coming for drugs. The whole aura in these places is very shady now. That is the very reason kasol became a tourist destination…. for it’s marijuana culture ! Nothing wrong with marijuana culture now in so many parts of the world, but the economy and backward living conditions in Parvati valley+ drug trade has made it very ugly there. All locals know how dead bodies turn up near the Parvati river the whole time. Hell, a police officer once told me about the large number of crimes that get reported here that shocked me so much at that time.
Easy money + a drug consuming lifestyle has brought all kinds of crimes to these parts of the state, from Petty theft to MURDER, both, from the insiders(locals), and outsiders as well. Even in Manali now, where we never even locked the house before leaving, have had put up CCTV cameras.
The reason I rant here, is because I love my state, and have to live here my whole life. By blame shifting and everything we are not going to get anywhere.
only after addressing them will we be able to cure the problem and solve the issue at hand.
These murders are a trend, and something like this will happen again if nothing is done. Rather than these stupid excuses given here, appecpt the fact that some areas are unsafe now, make it know to the tourists before they end up here. Then meanwhile, clean up the place for good.,And tourism will surely boom more than ever before.

Comment: Manaki, where we never even locked the house …… I think, cleaning is possible …….
