Hundreds of Kashmiri Hindu govt employees have left the Kashmir Valley over the last 10 days in the light of alleged targeted killings by terrorists, and returned to Jammu.
4 terrorists were killed in the encounter in Naira area of Pulwama and 1 ultra was killed in Chrar-i-Sharief area of the central Kashmir's Budgam district, a police official said.
The encounter broke out in Budgam's Zolwa village late Thursday. Three AK 56 rifles & other incriminating material were recovered from the site of the encounter, police official said.
A resident of Chattabal was shot dead by militants Saturday. Another civilian from Batamaloo area was shot at in a separate militant attack and succumbed to injuries Sunday.
The slain militant was involved in the killing of BJP district president Waseem Bari, his father and brother in July last year, J&K Police said in a tweet.
The incident occurred when a camp of United Liberation of Bodoland (ULB), a militant group formed earlier this week, was busted during an operation Friday, police said.
State police recovered the INSAS rifles Monday from Umkhrah river based on an anonymous tip. The rifles were snatched from a police station by masked men on 15 August.
