The issue of inequality has assumed the blazing limelight at a time when inequality in India is said to be higher than it was in the British Raj. It's a ripe situation for half-truths and incendiary statements.
Speaking at launch of economist Surjit Bhalla’s book, S Jaishankar also highlights Gen Z’s engagement with ‘reel culture’, which has 'promoted awareness, created interest in many subjects'.
Germany’s erstwhile Christian Democratic Union govt, led by Angela Merkel, prevented sale of small arms to police forces in states they perceived had ‘bad human rights record’.
A theme has not yet emerged for BJP & people see lack of a contest, which makes it unexciting. For all these reasons, 2024 is turning out to be an unexpectedly theme-less election.
[11/20, 11:51 PM] Shivam Singh: You must be kidding, while writing this article and not mentioning election expenditure once. Election expenditure of 2019 Loksabha election was 55000 Crore rupees, you heard me right $8 billion of which something 3500 Crore was spent by government on election management. Now trying adding the expenditure of many different elections in many different states? Can you even guess!
We desperately need one nation one election to save the expense and time the incumbent government spends in organising different elections which should be used in making better policy for the sustainable development. PM & CMs are busy in campaigning, so when are they going to get the time for their actual job. Also don’t forget to consider the population of both countries and losses incurred by the production companies on the day of elections.

An excellent piece..since the Hon. PM had called for One Nation One Election,I have had read so many articles but never got a detailed n instructive like this one.
It’s quite sure that India isn’t a complete federal nation. But over the years even the Quasi federal spirit of India has been undermined. Without reviving and further strengthening the federal system ,one cannot anticipate a stable India in any front.

Is it people of India who want US-style govt system, or just Modi and BJP?
Indias policy is far better than USA. There are more opportunities to defraud in american system.

True . The words of Rajaji rings very very true in the passing remarks .
Hope : Congress must also follow through this also and not cling to Gandhi Family “only”.
