No wonder many candidates who have done PhD s from IISc, IITs ,IISERs,NISER and good Post doctoral work are not been recruited in state universities . and no wonder high quality research is not been done in Indian Academia.

I just checked from the Shanghai college ranking site and it’s true. They really ranked Pakistan’s university in mechanical engineering subject above Oxford University.
THE & QS ratings are used by UGC to hire PhD candidates as assistant professors and above directly, skipping the mandatory NET exam. I guess it’s time to abolish that.
