Good Riddance for CBI, this officer never had any previous experience of working in CBI before joining as Joint Director. Allegations of deals with Angela Mercantile and the Fire services uniform scam existed even before he joined CBI, it’s not understood how he got vigilance clearance and why PMO relied blindly on recommendation of CVC, the PMO should have exercised due diligence before taking a decision, a mere search on the Net by the Spl Secretary would have given some clues about him , there should be a specisl vigilance cell directly under the PM to cross check integrity of officers appointed in top posts. This is the second instance after Alok Verma which has exposed the weakness in the procedures adopted for induction of a sr officer.

Judicial nominees are vetted by the IB. Perhaps that rigour could be applied for postings to the agency as well.
