New Delhi: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has slammed Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s meeting with Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan on 15 August, saying the love of some individuals and actors for “anti-India” forces has been increasing.

“Some persons and actors are inclined towards the persons and icons famous for their anti-Bharat credentials. An actor feeling proud of meeting Turkey’s first lady indicates so many things,” said Alok Kumar, international working president of the VHP.

Aamir Khan visited Turkey to prepare for his latest movie Laal Singh Chaddha, which will be shot there in October. Photos of his meeting with First Lady Erdogan had gone viral.

Vinod Bansal, national spokesperson of the VHP, added: “Those people whom the Indian audience treated so well and turned them into actors, today they feel proud to meet countries like anti-India Turkey. So, it is quite natural for the Indian audience to feel hurt. We will have to think.”

Reports in the Turkish media suggested the meeting between Khan and Erdogan happened at the behest of the Bollywood actor. Several netizens also questioned the meeting.

“There is one Zafarul (Islam Khan) who, while being the chairman of the minorities’ commission, threatens India on behalf of the radical Muslim countries. Now, we have this actor who could only get anti-India Turkey for his film promotion. Viewers understand everything,” Bansal added.

Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi also put out a tweet about Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan being “anti-India” and a “self-appointed Caliph”, and called the country an invisible threat for India. However, he did not name Aamir Khan or indicate that the tweet was triggered by his meeting with the First Lady.

Targeted before

This is not the first time Aamir Khan has been targeted for his comments or actions. In 2015, after Khan said he was “alarmed” by several cases of intolerance, and said his wife Kiran Rao even suggested leaving the country, he was slammed by many.

In 2016, VHP’s youth wing Bajrang Dal had also announced protests against Aamir Khan’s film Dangal over his comments on intolerance.

    • Excellent question Mr/Ms Xus !!

I wouldn’t be surprised if in the near future, criticism of BJP and Prophet Modi will be termed as sedition !

      Welcome to Lynchistan !

  1. aamir khan should have been sensitive to the feelings of the audience who have made him what he is today.

    • Amir has done excellent work through is Pani foundation in Maharashtra. Thousand villages are now out of draught situation . He is real patriot.

      • Very well said Mr Udaysingh Jagdale !

It is about time we respected all people for the work they do and not for the God(s) they worship.

    • Mr Kasiviswanathan Krishnan: I would wager that 99.99% of Indians have not heard of Turkish First Lady Ermine Erdogan. For that matter, most Indians would not have heard of Turkey either. Unlike the Middle-East, Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand and places like Canada, USA and some cricket playing nations in the West Indies etc. Turkey does not figure much in the Indian media; there are few Indian immigrants who move to Turkey and not much tourism between these countries and so on. In short, Amir Khan’s meeting with the Turkish First Lady is a non-event and not in the least bit a newsworthy item. Unless you choose to exploit it for stoking hatred of Muslims.

Clearly rabble rousers in the VHP and Muslim baiters from the vast Sangh Parivar tribe have little else to do but impugn motives and foist malafide intent on every move that an Indian Muslim makes. And honestly, Aamir Khan has done a lot more for India than the uncouth Godse worshippers that whip up hatred against Muslims and treat them as a default fifth column to be pilloried, hated and lynched. And that is when they are not called termites to be thrown into the Bay of Bengal by none other than Amit Shah, Home Minister.

Mind boggling to see how even educated South Indians like you would allow yourselves to be so easily led by a bunch of semi-literate Godse worshipping thugs. Unfathomable that you would hitch your wagon to this violent ideology of hate, surrender your intellect to these bigoted fools and allow them to set your agenda, shape your thinking and thgen regurgitate their venom through your pen.

But then Mr Kasiviswanathan Krishnan, you clearly revel in being a captive of this nasty ideology and I guess little can be done about it.

As the French philosopher Voltaire (1694-1778) said:

“It is difficult to free fools from the chains they revere”

  2. Maybe the VHP should also ask all Indians working in the Muslim countries of the Middle-East to come back home and not work for these anti-Hindu and anti-India countries. After all, Muslim countries are by definition anti-India and anti-Hindu aren’t they?

And in any case, the Indian economy is in top shape and humming along very nicely under the stewardship of MoSha isn’t it? And every Tom, Dick and Mehta knows that if there is one thing the Gujaratis always get right, well it must be economics and commerce right?

I suggest the following: BJP’s premier pundit in premature ejaculations, the world’s undisputed expert on the orgasms of Arab women and Muslim hater numero uno Sri Tejaswi Surya be tasked with:

1: Withdrawal of all Indian workers operating in Muslim countries. While this may lead to a loss of about 39 Billion USD in remittances (roughly 56% of all remittances to India), it is still small change in non-Akhand Bharath.

2: Task force to be set up under Sri Tejaswi Surya’s direction to implement a phased withdrawal of Indians in Christian countries. That way, conversions could also be avoided and suitable ghar wapasi schemes can be instituted for wayward people like Kamala Harris .

The world seems to forget that Ram Rajya is just around the corner and India does not need countries where Hinduphobia is rampant. Additionally, Modiji’s self-sufficiency stunt a.k.a. “atmanirbhar” will be able to absorb all these returning labourers.

The Vishwaguru does not need anybody else !

  3. For all those who stood by Amir Khan when he made his “intolerance” charge, kindly explain to us how tolerant is Erdogan, for Amit Khan to have met his wife on our Independence Day? Is there any more proof required that for him religion is more important than his country? Turkey is an enemy of India. Make no mistake.

    • Mr Subhasis Ghosh: Once again, your zombie brain, controlled as it is by the semi-literate, Godse worshipping thugs of the VHP, makes you bray and spew vomit such as:

“.. how tolerant is Erdogan, .. Turkey is an enemy of India. Make no mistake ..”

You seem to have forgotten that PM Modi himself has met this intolerant Muslim chap Erdogan several times. Additionally, India’s MEA has not declared Turkey or Erdogan an enemy of India because of its pro Pakistan stance on Kashmir.

Moreover, India views Turkey as an important market for goods and services. Under the Modi regime, the EXIM Bank of India commissioned a report to explore India’s trade prospects with Turkey. Some excerpts from that report:

“.. India maintains a trade surplus with Turkey, which has risen significantly over the last few years. In 2014, Turkey was India’s 32nd largest trading Export-Import Bank of India 11 Turkey: A Study of India’s Trade and Investment Potential partner. Turkey was the 16th largest global export destination, and 44th largest global source of imports for India. At the same time, India was the 9th largest source of imports for Turkey, and the 47th largest export destination ..”
      (Ref:bit.ly/3ax87Ok)

In reality, India has increased its bilateral trade with Turkey, exporting about 7.5 Billion USD worth of goods to Turkey in 2018. Turkey is one of the few countries with which India has a trade surplus.

Erdogan, like Modi is a flailing autocrat. Both use religion to hoodwink their citizens and deflect their attention away from the economic abyss that their respective countries stare into. Erdogan recently declared that the Hagia Sofia Church in Istanbul which had been turned into a museum would now be made into a mosque, delighting his pious Muslim followers and distracting them from their sorry economic plight. Likewise, Modi has done his Ram Mandir stunt to the great admiration of the Hindutva crowd, never mind the fact that the country is facing several serious crises: Covid 19, Chinese aggression and an economic meltdown exacerbated by previous economic blunders like demonetisation and GST.

In any case Mr Ghosh since Turkey is an enemy, shouldn’t India stop all trade with that country? Boycott Turkish products and so on? What do your itchy- testicled friends at the VHP shaka have to say about that ?
