He criticised opposition parties, saying they were ignoring the poor, youth and farmers in their quest for the prime minister’s chair.

Shahjahanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday took a dig at Rahul Gandhi over the “unwanted hug” he received from the Congress president in Parliament, and said the coming together of many parties against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will only help the ‘lotus’ bloom.

“We asked the reasons for their no-confidence, but when they failed to give it they ended up giving an unwanted hug,” Modi said, referring to Gandhi’s embrace in Lok Sabha yesterday.

Addressing a Kisan Kalyan Rally in Shahjahanpur, Modi said: “There is not just one ‘dal’ (political party) but dal over dal resulting in “dal-dal” (marshy land) which will only help the ‘lotus” bloom.” Lotus is the election symbol of the BJP.

He said the coming together of several parties against the BJP will be an opportunity.

Slamming opposition parties, he said they were running after the prime minister’s chair, ignoring the poor, youth and farmers. He used a Hindi expression that translates to more the parties, more the marshy land in which the ‘lotus’ blooms.

“If one dal (party) is added to another dal, then it becomes dal-dal (marshy land) which is favourable for ‘kamal’ to blossom.

Asking the people if they were satisfied with what happened in Lok Sabha, he alleged that the opposition parties only had their eyes of the prime minister’s chair.

“Are you people satisfied with what happened yesterday in Lok Sabha… Have you come to know who is at fault. They are not seeing the poor and the country but have their eyes only on the PM’s chair,” he said.

“Have I done anything wrong. I am only working for the poor and the country…fighting corruption and this is my crime,” he said.

Accusing previous governments of not having the will to help farmers, Modi listed the key decisions taken by his government for the welfare of farmers and criticised the parties who ruled in the past for lacking pro-farmer intentions.

He also said that for the first time the government has decided to allow mills to produce ethanol from molasses and sugarcane juice from 1 December.

After reaching out to voters in Azamgarh, Mirzapur, and Varanasi last week, Modi addressed the rally in Shahjahanpur, the biggest wholesale grain market and also a prominent cane growing district in Uttar Pradesh which sends 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha.

This was his third visit to the state in less than a month. Farmers in large numbers from adjoining districts such as Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Pilibhit, Sitapur, Bareilly, and Badaun attended the rally.

Today’s rally was Modi’s first public address after leading his party to victory in the no-confidence motion moved by the TDP. The BJP-led NDA won the no-trust-vote. – PTI

NaMo ironically is stooping very low by resorting to the hollow, low and cheap level of discourse whether replying to questions and issues raised by the opposition in the debate on no-confidence motion on July ,20 in the Lok Sabha or addressing public rallies
( in other words election campaign rallies) !

He must realise that these are not now years 2013, 2014 when masses were not aware of his ploys, guiles and tricks up his sleeve and fell in his fictitious magical trap, seeking an alternative, expecting a change for the better ! Now it is 2018 followed by 2019 when his inner-self now stands clearly x-rayed and exposed !

Living in fools paradise, like years 2013,2014 he is taking things for granted whereas he knows it very well that he is on a slippery wicket ! He is a person who does not believe in learning from the past blunders !

Sheer by chance, he has risen to the top but he fails to understand that this august office of the Prime Minister has grace and dignity
of the highest order but he has very often been found wanting too much in it ! During the debate on no-confidence motion proceedings,he did not conduct himself with the decency, sobriety and grace which is expected of a Prime Minister ! His overreactions either taking things too seriously or too lightly, laughing satirically reflected that he lacked magnanimity and large-heartedness to take things in his stride impartially and normally !

Then his ploy at the Shahjahanpur rally that opposition is eyeing the chair of Prime Minister speaks volumes of his bankruptcy of ideas and values !
If someone asks him after enjoying the chair of Prime Minister for more than four years what is he eyeing now ? In the run up to the 2019 Lok Sabhas polls, now onwards he will be a wholesale- wholesole campaigner for BJP, part timer PM neglecting duties and responsibilities of the Prime Minister’s office for securing second term ! Height of the lust for endless power, it is ! The “Modi Self” and “BJP” is his prime priority but the nation is secondary !

In his replies to the debate on no-confidence motion he did not impress at all. Why did not he come out clean on Rafale Aircraft Deal issue raised by the Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi ! Reacting too much to Rahul’s serious and direct allegations against PM as well as deliberate antics and theatrics, NaMo also behaved in a kiddish and immature fashion offering substance, focus and credibility to the same !

More NaMo overreactions and follies in future cannot be ruled out because
” Old Habits Die Hard” !
