New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) suspects a larger design behind the Delhi riots and doesn’t see them simply as clashes between the supporters and opponents of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
It believes the demographic profile of certain areas is changing fast, with Hindus now constituting a minority there. This, it feels, needs to be reversed to avoid such clashes in the future. The RSS also thinks Delhi Police did their job well and need to be backed fully.
According to an informal assessment carried out by the RSS, the violence in Northeast Delhi, which killed 37 people, was a reaction to a series of steps taken by the Modi government, including the scrapping of Article 370, the introduction of a law banning triple talaq, the CAA, and the Supreme Court verdict paving the way for the construction of a Ram temple at the deity’s birthplace in Ayodhya.
“Whether it was violence at Jamia Millia Islamia and the surrounding areas or the sit-in at Shaheen Bagh, all these so-called protests against the CAA are actually a manifestation of the frustration of a section of radical Muslims, who feel politically less empowered as the present government at the Centre doesn’t indulge in the policy of appeasement,” said a senior RSS functionary.
“The radical Muslims feel slighted by the fact that most political leaders cutting across party lines are forced to opt for symbols of Hindutva,” the functionary added.
“The number of ‘iftars’ organised by political parties is going down drastically and the number of temple visits by political leaders from various parties is going up. This is an indication that, in the polity and policymaking apparatus of this country, Muslims would be treated as equals and not ‘first among the equals’,” the functionary said. “But a section of radical Muslims is not ready to accept this reality and hence you witnessed this mayhem on Delhi roads.”

‘An ultra-Left-Islamist nexus’
Based on feedback from its cadres on the ground, the RSS has arrived at an assessment that the reaction to the present government’s policies has been precipitated by a “dangerous” nexus of ultra-Leftists/Naxals and radical Islamists.
It believes a combination of Islamist radicals, backed by “urban Naxals”, planned attacks in various parts of the city. The RSS’ assessment is that the attacks were not as spontaneous as they looked, and a number of “outsiders” or “non-residents” played a role in perpetrating the violence.
“Our assessment is that this was a well-planned campaign and outsiders played an important role in instigating violence. Our cadres identified a number of such outsiders,” said a senior functionary of the Delhi RSS who is part of the team monitoring the real-time situation on the ground.
“The way police officials have been targeted, and specific residential areas, business establishments and educational institutions bore the brunt of mobs, shows that the targets had been identified much in advance,” the functionary added. “The kind of weapons that have been used also indicate how well prepared the mobs were.”
Another key factor that led to the violence, according to the RSS’ assessment is, a “change in the demographic profile of Northeast Delhi over the past few years”.
According to a third RSS functionary, the riots occurred in areas where Hindus are either not present or form a minority, namely, Jafrabad and Seelampur. The functionary also noted that Okhla and Jamia, the site of major anti-CAA demonstrations, had a similar demographic profile.
“In fact, we have been observing that there are more than three dozen places in Delhi where the demographic profile has changed, with the Hindu population moving out of the area and… replaced by Muslims,” the functionary said. “Gradually, they have turned into ghettos where radical elements find fertile ground to promote violence. Unless one addresses this core issue, one would be doing only window-dressing.”

All Anti CAA protesters listen carefully,I would like to know who is staying in my mohalla, I can recognise Ram,Deep&Hari and of course Tom Dick & Harry.I’m also willing to count mechanic Hafeez, plumberPashaBhai, as well as the local Ruffian Iqbal bhai. But what alarms me is an unknown YasserBinSaad,ImanShagill or some MallaMalikChowdri browsing thru our neighborhood. RSS has simply focused on the cases where Muslim extremists targeted people in Delhi. But they have conveniently ignored cases where mosques and schools were vandalized. Did those episodes take place in HIndu majority areas ? It was simply tit for tat and mutual vengeance that drove events in Delhi. RSS has also ignored the fact that in all big cities, there are clusters of people who are mainly of one religion or group. Let them not forget the shameful episode when a successful Muslim businessman in Vadodara settled in a HIndu area, but the locals there were so hostile that he finally relocated somewhere else.
So it is natural for clusters of communities to form in large cities. London also has its Polish, Jewish and typically Indian areas .

The idea that change in demography causes social strain needs to be looked into. Specially in view of the reports that even in a most ” leftist socialist ” muslims loving nation like Sweden some areas have been taken over by Muslim migrants. It is reported that even Sweden’s police are not allowed to enter in those areas without facing stiff resistance. And ordinary non muslim residents are not allowed to enter . But RSS has to first sort the dichotomy of Hindus not allowing muslims in their neighborhood and leaving that areas where Muslims enter. Unless Hindus learn to live with Non vegetarian muslims it is not possible to increase percentage of Hindus . The fact that an intelligence officer was targeted and killed clearly shows that the rioters are getting their inputs from some foreign intelligence agency, perhaps not directly, but through cutouts. Guns and petrol bombs have been used in this riot. This also shows support to the rioters from our friendly neighbourhood country. In due course, we may see even car bombs and suicide bombings in communal riots. Hindus have no access to weapons.
Then what’s our agencies are doing to counter.
Rioters came from both sides in this case. Some mosques were vandalised also.So, does that indicate a counter conspiracy ?

I wish to say that citizen-voters are opposed to use of religion; political decisions like enactment of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) should be opposed through other democratic, non-violent means, say an election. The citizen-voters are not in favour any particular party, be it the Congress or BJP, in this regard. 2. I also wish to say that none can succeed in defeating sectarianism by opposing everything which the ruling BJP wishes to do. Secularism will succeed in our country only by protecting interests of all communities and not by appeasing the minority vote banks. 3. I feel that instead of wasting energy on agitation against CAA anti-BJP parties can devote their energy for some good causes. I will mention a few here: (a) to protect environment, and for creating atmosphere with far less pollution, these parties and of course all citizen-voters must demand implementation of policies which aim to cut consumption of petrol and diesel. (b) We must implement various reforms- administration, election law, economic /fiscal, legal, education sector and so on. (c) We need a law for compulsory audit of accounts of all political parties and in this regard to all political parties are reluctant to have such an audit.
RSS can be converted into Intelligence Bureau as their caders seems to have more information than government run. What demograph the author is talking about. A BJP member giving a ultimatum in the presence of a police officer and talking about demography.
