New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi broke his silence on the Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan Wednesday, just as the ceremony was taking place in Ayodhya.

Maryada Purushottam bhagwan Ram sarvottam manviya gudho ka swraoop hain (Lord Ram is the manifestation of the best human qualities),” Gandhi tweeted.

— Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) August 5, 2020

“Ram is love, He can never appear in hate. Ram is compassion, he can never appear in cruelty. Ram is justice, he can never appear in injustice,” Gandhi added.

Gandhi had so far kept mum on the ceremony, even as senior leaders of the Congress had come out in support of the Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had Tuesday officially endorsed the ceremony, saying “Ram sabke hain (Ram belongs to everyone)”.

She had also said that she prays the ceremony “becomes a marker of national unity.”

Hours after her statement, the Uttar Pradesh Congress went on an overdrive to portray her as a proponent of Ram Mandir.

Images showing Vadra with the Ram Mandir model in the background, and quotes from her statement were circulated by the UP Congress.

Slew of Congress leaders back ceremony

Several Congress leaders have also come out in support of the Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan — Manish Tewari, Kamal Nath, Digvijaya Singh, among others.

On Wednesday, other Congress leaders too spoke in support of endorsing the Ram Mandir, including Amarinder Singh, CM of Punjab who extended his “heartiest Congratulations to the people of India” on the occasion.

Former Union Minister Jitin Prasada also tweeted in support of the ceremony, as did party leader Milind Deora.

  1. Is it not tellingly significant that while PGV first and then RG turned a complete, shameless somersault on Ram, gushing with effusive epithets in His praise, there is not a squeak or word from their mother?

  2. This dumbo, Pappu talks that Lord Ram is merciful. Ram karuna hai. Really ? He fought a 10 day war with Ravana and killed him in battle. How can these dumbos show only one side which they like ?

  3. A request to prince TO SPEAK TRUTH AS SHRI RAM WOULD HAVE

    1) Wether he will accept that his PARTY WRONGLY adopted DIVIDE HINDUS and rule INDIA policy

    2) Wether he accepts the so called ” secular votes ” his party gets is actually a vote from a highly communal society.

    3) That when we say RAM RAJYA we actually mean economic and financial and education of all. That there would be no tax on non believers neither ethnic cleansing òf other religions. Which is not a case when a different religious welfare state is sought to be achieved as in case of pakistan .

    5) That HIS PARTY will support POPULATION CONTROL MEASURES to enable meagre resources to be used in a better manner.

  4. पप्पू जी को भी भगवान राम सद्बुद्धि देंगे

    जय श्री राम ?
