New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2550th Bhagwan Mahaveer Nirvan Mahotsav in New Delhi, a PIB press release stated.
The event was witnessed by the participation of a number of dignitaries including the Union Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, and the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Shri Kulanshu B.
The Prime Minister began his address by expressing his gratitude to the Jain community for their support and guidance in addressing the various challenges faced by the country. He highlighted the importance of the Bhagwan Mahaveer’s role in guiding the nation towards spiritual development and social responsibility.
Speaking about the ongoing debate over the future of society, he urged the students to not take the path of violence and instead to follow the path of peace and brotherhood. He stressed the need for mutual respect and understanding among all nations and peoples. The Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of preserving the nation’s unique identity and culture. He highlighted the role of the youth in building a strong and vibrant future for India.
The students were also given an autographed copy of the Bhagwan Mahaveer’s Nirvan Diwas by the Prime Minister. The students were also encouraged to participate in various activities organised by the government in commemorating the festival.
