Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi sworn in as new judicial member of Lokpal of India

Justice Awasthi, was earlier the Chairperson of the Law Commission of India and the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court before joining Lokpal of India.

New Delhi: Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi was sworn in as the new judicial member of Lokpal of India by the Chairperson of Lokpal, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar, at the Lokpal of India office in New Delhi on March 27, 2024.

He replaces Justice P.K. Mohanty and Justice Abhilasha Kumari, who had completed their tenure on March 26, 2024.New appointments were also made for three other members, namely, D.K. Jain, Archana Ramasundaram, and Mahender Singh, who have completed their tenure on March 26, 2024.

Justice Awasthi, was earlier the Chairperson of the 22 Law Commission of India and the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court before joining Lokpal of India. The swearing-in ceremony of Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi was attended by other senior officials of CBI and ED, including Praveen Kumar Srivastava, the Central Vigilance Commissioner.
