Actor, politician & now painter — Smriti Irani reveals hidden talent on Instagram

Smriti Irani took to Instagram to share a photo where she is working on a painting featuring the Eiffel Tower.

New Delhi: Union Minister Smriti Irani, who is often known to share hilarious memes on social media, shared her hidden skills with the painting brush on Instagram Friday.

“There are times I’ve been known to paint,” the minister captioned her post. She can be seen working on the painting which features a picture of the Eiffel Tower.

Impressed followers, including many celebrities, took to the comments section to praise her. The BJP leader’s friend and producer Ekta Kapoor responded saying: “Rockingggg.”

A number of other users also commented on the photo sharing app. One of them said: “Wow!!! That looks like an awesome painting. Would love to see the final piece.”

Another user wrote: “That’s wonderful to know”.

Some even called her a multi-talented woman. “Wow, you are a mountain of talents. A true patron of crafts and textiles. We as a community of artists and designers need more leaders like you.”

The women and child development minister is active on Instagram, often sharing throwback photos of her family or funny memes, and at times, even poking fun at herself through her posts.

On 22 November, she had posted an old picture titled: #flashbackfriday…the journey from carrot to pumpkin…carrot se kaddu ki kahani”. The post was widely liked and commented upon.

Similarly, on 18 November, the BJP leader had posted a picture of herself with Bill Gates and captioned it: “Soch rahein hai padhai poori kari nahi, aage kya karein…(Have not completed my education…wondering what to do in the future)
