New Delhi: Meta has launched its first personal artificial intelligence assistant, called Muse, which can easily complete everyday tasks and even do your online shopping.
Muse represents the company’s biggest push into AI agents that can independently complete real-world tasks for users rather than simply responding to prompts.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday rolled out the AI agent by sharing a video post on his social media. He said, “Introducing Muse, the personal agent that understands your goals and works 24/7 to get things done for you.”
The company has described Muse Spark as its most capable model, built for agentic workflows. Muse can perform a range of everyday tasks, including sending emails, booking trips, organizing schedules and shopping online, with minimal input from users.
“Unlike other agents, Muse was built to work for billions of people worldwide, so there’s no learning curve,” Meta said in a statement. “Muse is designed around the way people already communicate, so talking to it works just like messaging another person, in the Muse app or directly in WhatsApp.”
For now, it is only available to adults in the United States. Muse can be accessed through a dedicated app and Meta’s WhatsApp platform.
What all can Muse do?
Meta added that Muse is designed to be easy for anyone to use. No technical skills or training are needed to use the new app. Users simply tell Muse what they want to achieve, and it creates a personalised plan and works on it with little help from the user. It can also open websites, fill out forms and act on the user’s behalf.
“When it comes time to pay, Muse can checkout with Link built by Stripe, and it is the first AI agent covered by Link’s purchase protections: free coverage for damaged or lost items, price drops, no-fee returns, and a return guarantee on eligible purchases,” reads the statement further.
Muse can also remember important details about the user and use them to make helpful suggestions. For example, it can turn a recipe saved on Instagram into a grocery list, suggest a menu for a dinner party, and remember guests’ dietary restrictions before sending invitations.
“Muse is a personal AI agent. It doesn’t just answer questions, it actually does the work. It helps people stay on top of things, takes tasks and projects off their plate, and turns long-term goals into action plans,” Meta added.
To keep user data safe, Meta explained, Muse runs on its own secure computer in the cloud, separated from other users’ agents. This helps keep each user’s data and connected services protected from others.
Muse also securely stores the user’s data and login details for the services they connect, adding an extra layer of protection. “Nothing Muse does reaches the internet unless the Sentinel approves it, and it asks the person for permission when needed,” the statement said.
