New Delhi: Tehran has once again used its streets to send a political message. A giant billboard in the city’s Enghelab Square shows US President Donald Trump lying in a coffin alongside a slogan — “We Kill Trump.”
The image is proof of Iran’s continuing anger over years of confrontation with Washington. This is more than just a provocation. It reflects Iran’s effort to use public spaces to send a message of resistance and defiance. A nearby statue of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei with his fist raised further deepens that message.
The billboard also has references to former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who died in February during the early days of the war and is described as a ‘martyr.’ It also pays tribute to children killed in a US airstrike in Minab, southern Iran.
The image of Trump in a coffin quickly went viral across X, Facebook, Reddit and Instagram, with many users questioning its authenticity. Some commentators interpreted the billboard as an official Iranian call for the assassination of the US president.
One tweet by Mossad Commentary, an account focused on Israel, said, “As long as the regime exists, Trump will remain a target.”
For many in Iran’s political establishment, Trump is closely associated with sanctions, heightened tensions and one of the lowest points in US-Iran relations.

A well-placed billboard
Enghelab Square is one of Tehran’s busiest and most symbolic spaces. By placing the billboard there, Iranian authorities ensure the message reaches both residents and visitors.
Political billboards in the square are nothing new. In January, another billboard depicted a strike on a US warship, with a trail of blood resembling the stripes of the American flag. In recent weeks, Iranians have repeatedly focused on avenging Khamenei and others killed in the conflict.
But this latest billboard is among the most graphic displays yet.
“With all the Iranian illegals Biden let in, this is a real threat for Donald Trump here in America. This is despicable… billboards with graffiti to kill Trump are popping up all over Tehran. The bombing must continue because Iran’s leaders still don’t get it. Terrorism must be off their plate forever,” read a tweet on X.
