Ashutosh Gowariker and Sonakshi Sinha face off in new courtroom drama System

System, which also stars Jyotika, marks director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s debut in the courtroom genre.

New Delhi: The trailer of Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika starrer System has been released today on YouTube. The Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari directorial promises an intense courtroom drama packed with suspense and emotional conflict and dives into justice and the Indian legal system.

Tiwari is known for films like Nil Battey Sannata (2015), Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), and Panga (2020). System marks her debut in the courtroom genre. 

“What does justice really mean to each one of us? Of questions and answers and finding my voice and purpose as a storyteller. Forever grateful to my collaborators,” Tiwari wrote alongside the trailer of the film on Instagram.

The trailer introduces Sonakshi as Neha, a lawyer trying to prove herself in the profession and make space at her father’s law firm. Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker is Neha’s father, who constantly challenges her abilities by assigning her complex cases. 

Neha teams up with a stenographer, Sarika, played by Jyotika, and the duo fight legal battles that question the silver lining between morality and justice.

Buzz around the film

The story is set against the backdrop of family conflicts and legal politics. The on-screen chemistry between Sonakshi, Jyotika, and Ashutosh have sparked curiosity and flooded social media with reactions.

“TWO POWERHOUSE, ONE BROKEN SYSTEM…  Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika join forces to expose the dark side of justice, This isn’t just a trial; its a battle against the status quo,” wrote a user on X.

“Courtroom thriller promises an intense mix of suspense, drama and legal battles,” wrote another commentator.

“When Ashutosh Gowariker himself choose to act, then you that its masterpiece,” an Instagram user wrote.

The film is set to premier on Amazon Prime Video on 22 May.
