Electrical vehicles that appeal to swaths of consumers remain few and far between & those on the road are still too expensive of which the main culprit is the battery technology.
While bond yields tend to fall amid low inflation & interest rate cuts, market experts say they’ve been rising due to concerns over tax collections, fiscal deficit & potential impact of US tariffs.
It is one of the most advanced long-range air defence and anti-missile radars. It has been acquired under an about USD 145-million deal signed in 2020.
In its toughest time in decades because of floods, Punjab would’ve expected PM Modi to visit. If he has the time for a Bihar tour, why not a short visit to next-door Punjab?
My take –
A Smashing article exposing the hypocrisy of the BJP. When literates like Mr. Jaitley defend such ‘whited sepulchers’ & persevere to protect them, it sets a deplorable example of our polity.
Intolerance towards the freedom to express works against the constitution, against democracy & against the idea of India but when hypocrisy reaches this vertex, it needs to be upbraided.
Zainab succeeds very well in nailing the fibs & delivers apposite instances along the way brilliantly, questioning Mr. Jaitley, the prominent & supposedly secular face of the BJP, on his convenient absence of sincerity, his evident double standards in the partisan politics his party’s been accredited for, especially among the liberals.
Not for the reactionary or the whattaboutism addicts.
He has reached the position of FM. Must be having good political and financial sense. While those commenting on his lack of sense remain unheard of.
Mr Jaitley is for sure a successful lawyer. I am a student of economics. May I, at the cost of modesty, mention that my assessment of Modi-Jaitley combination, even five years ago, was and continues to be that they don’t understand economics for sure?
As an FM, we are getting to know what he has delivered – now by the week – slow down in most sectors, fiscal deficit number are fudged by transferring debt to PSUs, PSUs have been bled, disinvestment is an accounting farce, NBFC crisis is just about unfolding, farm incomes are growing a depressingly low prices, low-inflation is becoming a curse, etc. One of the sectors has been bungle badly is the power sector – PLFs are running at just about 60% and we adding capacity by providing subsidies and investors are still not lining up. Solar bids are coming at 2.5 and thermal at 4.41. Discoms are not paying generators for anywhere between 500 to 600 days. Newspapers, during the last few weeks, have listed about 20 areas where economic under-performance, largely caused by mismanagement is staring in our face. It partly the ideology that the regime lives by and partly the inability to understand India’s reality. To boot it, they refuse to learn and recognise what India is.
One must be so depressed to have a “funny creature” decide his country’s economics.
The joke is on us, Anon. Our man has messed up the economy, nearly completely. It is visible all around. Only time, I agree with Dr Subramaniam Swamy is when he talks about Jaitley’s competence in understanding economics. You can blame Mr
Jaitley completely, as our supreme leader also does not want to learn. God save us from the self-obsessed great leaders and their cronies who refuse to think and learn.

Revealing, riveting,must read!!
Zainab isn’t this entire article “whataboutery”, something that is so frowned upon by our liberal intellectual media?
Funny thing is that Jaitley has not developed any sense, funny or otherwise, even after getting his kidneys replaced!
