Rahul Gandhi needs to think before he speaks. His latest comment questioning normality in Kashmir has given Pakistan a talking point at the United Nations. Gandhi may not take himself seriously but his casual and unthinking articulation on national security matters could be politically fatal for an already wrecked Congress.

Easing FDI rules boosts sentiment but Modi must follow up with approvals, infrastructure

  1. We all saw the two kids near their dad’s funeral pyre. Rahul will always have my sympathy, but he’s an idiot and he knows it too! Let him retire and be happy away from all the political nonsense and treachery.

  2. It may sound fanciful for a party with fifty MPs, but perhaps the Congress needs a shadow Cabinet. Assigning responsibility for ten or so important portfolios to knowledgeable people, a few of whom may have failed to get elected. On issues of significance, there should be a clearly enunciated Congress position, formulated after internal consultations. The party has members who have held senior positions in government, there is no talent crunch. These are resources Shri Rahul Gandhi should tap into, before commenting publicly on sensitive issues. On a lighter note, the messaging should be, They have the lamp posts but we have the tube lights …

  3. Bite the bullet, not merely marshmallows. 100% FDI in multi brand retail. Allow the world’s largest firms to buy directly from Indian farmers, process or market his produce. Consider how much FDI has actually come to the defence sector in the last five years, leaving us over dependent on imports. 2. Instead of pitching for reforms, a new narrative – I know The Print does not love this word – is being created over how 5% is the new normal, how high growth is no longer even a political / electoral imperative.
