If a government with 300+ MPs and a largely friendly media, is still paranoid about its image, its priorities are wrong.

Bengaluru being ranked India’s most liveable big city is surprising. It’s also an unhappy comment on the state of other big cities. Forget being smart, our cities are not even comfortable. And those in the north and east need to catch up with the south and west, as the ranking shows.
As a resident of Bengaluru, I can tell you that traffic density and garbage accumulation continue to pull down the city’s quality of life. If Bengaluru, with its problems, can rank as the most livable city, I shudder to think what life will be like in other cities. This rank should have gone to Mysuru, which is smaller, and a far better city than Bengaluru.
