At least 15 people may be missing or unaccounted for after a flash flood in the Grand Canyon, the National Park Service said in a statement on Sunday.
The flash-flood event happened Saturday at around 2:30 p.m. local time in the Bright Angel Canyon and Phantom Ranch area.
Both the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Grand Canyon National Park staff responded to the event and are aiding in evacuations and taking account of those who may have been in the affected areas.
