New Delhi: From India’s image abroad, to a new Bollywood squabble and of course Donald Trump, Twitter is all over the place this Friday.
The latest issue of The Economist magazine has taken Twitter by storm for its critical commentary on the Narendra Modi government in “Intolerant India”. Here are some of the reactions:
This will hurt at a time when the government is attempting to woo investors in Davos https://t.co/HJLiGchVue

Narendra Modi has truly put India on the world map. TIME, New Yorker and now the Economist. Never before has the world's largest democracy been subjected to such criticism as it has under Narendra Modi's leadership. https://t.co/nsLvd24o2X

We thought the Brits had left in 1947! But the editors of @TheEconomist are still living in in colonial era. They are furious when 600m Indians do not follow their explicit instructions of not voting Modi. https://t.co/LmPZlLZlny

The Bollywood spat between actor Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher is still simmering when another one goes on boil. Actor Kangana Ranaut made a rather insensitive comment about lawyer Indira Jaising and here’s actor Simi Garewal in defense of Jaising.
#IndiraJaising is a fine woman & a brilliant lawyer. She has spent a lifetime fighting for women's rights, for justice. I've never met her but have followed her crusade with admiration & #respect

Congressman Sanjay Nirupam talks some sense on Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah’s unseemly tussle.
— Sanjay Nirupam (@sanjaynirupam) January 24, 2020
Activist Umar Khalid mocks Home Minister Amit Shah’s Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) debate challenge.
Amit Shah – I challenge Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and Mamta Banerjee for an open debate on CAA.
Meanwhile, Shaheen Bagh Dadis be like – Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe!

And while Shah hasn’t replied to those who have taken up his challenge, BJP Karnataka is ready to take on journalist Faye D’Souza.

The Ministry of Home Affairs might not have any information on the ‘tukde tukde gang’ but Congress leader Kapil Sibal knows ‘them’ only too well.
Tukde Tukde Gang
Who are the real tukde tukde gang ?
Those who incite us
Those who divide us
Those who communalise us

When activist Harsh Mander says the movement against the CAA has grown as big as the freedom struggle, surely he exaggerates?
The protests against CAA NRIC NPR have grown into a movement of a spread & scale unmatched since the freedom struggle. Above all, it is a movement against divisive polices & laws, & for solidarity & Hindu-Muslim unity. It is for all Indians standing for & with each other https://t.co/7tlf5QNJYF

Britain’s bonnie Prince Charlie gives the royal ignore to the man who is first in line to the White House, should something unfortunate happen to the present incumbent.
