And, the punishment for damaging (or even destroying) a book can never be death. Also, I understand that the Sikhs believe that the Guru Granth Sahib is a living Guru. But, from the little that I know of the Sikh Gurus, had Bakshish insulted one of them, he would have received compassion, not a death sentence, from them.
