But thereafter, due to foreign invasion, the scientific temper was lost and we lagged behind the western world. The remedy does not lie in futile indulgence in delusory and imaginary rediscovering of our ancient history. The remedy should be on focusing on scientific and technological research and development and acquiring excellence in this regard.
The Britishers brought in the concept of plumbing and septic tanks. We were unable to build robust urban civilizationS because we had not developed sanitation technologies before the British came in. Our caste system solved that problem nicely at that time without any technologies, using humans to dispose of human waste, so where was the need to have sanitation technologies?
