You just ended up confuse your readers. Please proof check your article. In one statement you say that the neanderthal gene makes us more susceptible to severe COVID, which I have read when it came out and was done on Northern Europeans, not Indians as far as I can remember.
In another statement you say [without differentiating whether the 2 genes are different], that the Neanderthal gene protects 50% Indians from severe COVID.
In addition, the mortality is very high among Gujaratis and Marathis while both mortality & infection rates have been low among Telugu & Tamil populations.
So, both the studies do not prove anything.
