The key difference between BJP & Congress governments is that ideology guided Congress's policies, never governed them, while BJP's commitment to ideology is almost fundamentalist.
For 22 January, five journalists of ThePrint were in Ayodhya, several days in advance. If this was the first draft of history in the making, we wanted to be sure we wrote it.
Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is not merely a brick and mortar structure; it is the resurrection of Hindu pride that was hurt centuries ago by a marauding horde of plunderers.
A religious procession to mark Ram idol consecration at Ayodhya led to communal violence in Mira Road’s Nayanagar Monday. Then bulldozers rolled in. Civic agency denies any link.
Chief imam of All India Imam Organisation, Dr Umer Ahmed Ilyasi says his job is to spread the message of love and harmony, praises Modi for his ‘message of unity’.
The PM, who led rituals at the pran pratishtha of the Ram Lalla idol, also said that 'people will talk about this moment even a thousand years from now'.
Ram temple has transformed India in its entirety. From party politics to cultural warfare, India or Bharat is undeniably Hindu today. Pluralism is just a colourful backdrop.
The cloth covering the eyes of the 51-inch idol was removed shortly after 12.20 pm during the auspicious 84-second window of the pran pratishtha, making him a 'living deity'.
Xi won’t be walking away from Europe with a win in hand, but his visit will almost certainly ignite arguments about the continent’s geopolitical future.
Air India’s new policy, effective from 2 May, introduces new weight limits for tickets in each of the different 'fare families' — Comfort, Comfort Plus, and Flex.
A theme has not yet emerged for BJP & people see lack of a contest, which makes it unexciting. For all these reasons, 2024 is turning out to be an unexpectedly theme-less election.
How can one say that congress ideology never governed ? The secular ideology got pushed into the constitution. The socialist ideology reflected in licence raj, 96 percent incometax. The world peace ideology costed 3400 acres of land to chinna. The tolerance ideology gave free hand to terrorism.
This is a comical article. This is like trying to explain things after a goal has been scored, and saying that it is all too easy to see why it happened. Pick things you want and string together to make absolutely useless conclusion.
I wonder why he stopped short of talking about vedas, upanishad and epics, which are the root and inspiration for all the other texts.
He talks about flexibility in policies by Congress, BJP sees it as appeasement policies.
There is nothing hard to explain about BJP. They are hard core nationalist with India first in their mind and are not afraid to take gutsy decisions to move India forward. That is the fundamental here. And we are seeing amazing results!
Once you understand the above, you have understood BJP.
your articles are never straight forward, u seem to be over thinking. Try to be concise.
And this article lacks substance. It is just perspective.
The real test of Bjp’s Commitment to ideology will be when it will be WEAKER and declining.
who said BJP govt (Modi) is difficult to understand. It’s obvious, Modi does whatever he EASILY CAN (he won’t bring Swizz money though) to entertain Hindus, which is its main vote bank 85%. Whatever he does, is completely aligned with one and only one thing: Votes of Hindus.
From doing nothing to enforce 144, and preventing killings of dozens of people, to bailing RamRahim out, all this he must not have read as well.
But, Vote is Prior to Hindutva and Hindu for Modi. Think a little u will find equally many things that even RSS and Savarkar would not have allowed, which Modi is doing anyway.
All these things 370, 3 talaq, UCC, Population Control etc. are all BS political gimmicks. He is doing all these because they don’t cost any money and are extremely entertaining to his main vote bank. Manmohan was dead boring, Modi on the otherhand keeps his voters always busy.
Today, simultaneous elections too will be beneficial for Modi, that is why he is dancing for it. Why does he not seek for fair appointment of Chief Election Commissioner, after all Advani has written a book in favour of that, because he doesn’t have to and that’s extra luxury for him.
Congress couldn’t follow secularism because the idea of secularism is difficult and much higher than the instinctive idea of primitive tribalism. Congress is struggling because of its perennial priority of one parivaar over party. Bjp is much better organisation than any other party of india.
1.4 billion Indians, one sixth of the human race. Joining the First World by 2047 is not feasible, although PM LKY completed that journey for Singapore in a generation. For this vast political capital to translate into better HDI scores, continuing material improvements for the lower one half of households. That would change India internally and its place in the world.
I guess this explains why this government focuses on more long term goals whereas the last one concerned itself with short-sighted and ad-hoc policy making which was disastrous.
If you hear the dhun sung by Vishnu Paluskar’s son DV Paluskar on YouTube, you will not find eashwar alla tero naam. These words were added by someone else.

What took Shekhar Gupta such a long time to find this out? Elite contempt for anything Desi?
