Vistara posted a picture of its staff with Maj. Gen. (retd) G.D. Bakshi, leading to a social media backlash. It then deleted the tweet, drawing more anger.
On 9 July 1991, then-PM PV Narasimha Rao addressed the nation days before the Budget presentation, admitting that the job of repairing India's sick economy won't be easy, quick, or smooth.

New Delhi has, in past, too, objected to Chinese construction activities in Shaksgam Valley. Work in this strategic region gathered pace after the 2017 Doklam stand-off.
A theme has not yet emerged for BJP & people see lack of a contest, which makes it unexciting. For all these reasons, 2024 is turning out to be an unexpectedly theme-less election.
What is “liberal”? Who decides if someone is a “liberal” or not? Does the left leaning decide or the right leaning decide who is a “liberal”? Can a right leaning be as “liberal” as left leaning or becomes a lesser creature not worthy of being a “liberal”? Does being called a liberal by peers or being a self-proclaimed “liberal” make anyone lesser biased? Can a “liberal” accept that there are some inherent biases? Most importantly, can “liberals”attentively hear, discuss and learn from all hues of ideals, opinions and views?
As common citizens and human being can we answer some questions? Are we able to hear points of view from one extreme to the other? Are we able to find common ground somewhere and also see some positives in a contrarian point of view? Is my point of view the absolute truth or merely a relative truth? Am I always correct or can I be wrong too, sometimes more wronged than others? If someone abuses me because of my views and ideas, is tit-for-tat the right answer? Some of these questions hopefully may lead to some honest answers for us as individuals and also as a society or country. Understanding others may lead to fruitful conversations and lesser confrontations.
They say, – “The sun rises in the east” is a universal truth. Think again! Does sun rise? Really? Is the east really east? Truth has infinite dimensions and cannot be confined in a statement or point of view. A single statement or a point of view also holds true but it is only a relative truth.
The difference between liberalism and communalism is that liberalism is against hate against any particular community or group…it seeks to maintain a balance between the majoritarian and the minority…the difference is that it a right wing outlet will never speak out against cow lynching and n fact justify it .. I agree that nowadays even the leftist outlets don’t highlight news which they should but atleast they don’t spew hatred…the person in question , major general Bakshi, openly espouses hate against Muslims ….such a person should b denounced irrespective of his achievements in the army…because wat is the use of defending the country from foreigners when u want to break it from within…that is anti-national…there can be no doubt about that…there is no doubt that people can have differing views…but if those views increase hate against a group of people leading to persecution of those people that is not allowing liberal debate…that is encouraging fascism…there is no difference between the Englishmen who invaded us with theory of West imperialism and the RSS idealogues who would have is believe that Hinduism is the only Sanatan dharma an peaceful religion…an Islam and Christianity are violent blood thirsty ones…that is why intellectuals don’t want to listen to them…in a debate if I point out flaws in Hinduism will these idealogues have a discussion with me…will they acknowledge they may be true….If not then how is it a discussion…then why should they be allotted the stage. …
I am not a fan of Major Gen Bakshi. However, he is a law abiding citizen, with high recall value, Perfectly innocuous to tell the world that he flies Vistara.
