Zhang Guozhu communicated the decisions of the Central Military Commission to the frontline troops and hence, was well aware of China’s reasons for the war.
What happens when two competing and nearly comparable military powers like China and India deploy their military might against each other in the Himalayas?
Whether India’s politico-military establishment is willing to change the narrative, or continue with its restrained response is an acid test for the Modi govt.
A serious threat may lead to Beijing hitting the pause button on territorial expansion, but in the long run the slow decadal expansionism will not cease.
Late Brig J.P. Dalvi fought the 1962 war against China and was taken prisoner of war. His scathing words in his book, Himalayan Blunder, ring aloud on his 100th birth anniversary.
In the battle of Bum La and Nuranag of 1962, the regiment played a crucial role in the fight against the Chinese. The regiment also participated in World War I and II.
By building roads right up to the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, India is changing the rules of the game that China has been unilaterally playing all these years.
One has to be incredibly credulous to buy BJP spin masters’ argument that the government got rid of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar for harmonious relationship with the judiciary.
Modi government had also made numerous efforts to establish peace with Pakistan but has now adopted a different path, militarily, to establish peace, adds defence minister.
As Narendra Modi becomes India’s second-longest consecutively serving Prime Minister, we look at how he compares with Indira Gandhi across four key dimensions.
Peace = Bullet for Bullet, Gun for Gun, Missile for Missile, Bomb for Bomb !
Let us leave aside the delusions of last 58 years, hopes for the Best are realized only when we have Achieve the Best !
Panag is spitting at the sun when he calls Jawaharlal Nehru names. Indian Army just wants comfortable jobs and benefits but does not want to fight. They do’t even understand warfare yet pose as experts. They want to drink, party and bad mouth long dead Jawaharlal Nehru. They always enjoyed cheap appliances & liquor in military canteens, free housing and drew pensions yet play victims. Why did they abandon posts and ran away in 1962? When will army finds some shame and takes responsibility? China is indeed as warmongering as suggested, the border would be not too far from Delhi.
Till 2 days back the same general was advocating an assertive Indian approach .. today he is saying just the reverse. Sounds like he himself has been indoctrinated. A bit too fast

To keep the record straight India has produced problems for itself annoying its neighbors. India has posed a threat to Pakistan, by threatening to snatche Pok and gilget Baltistan, to Nepal by snatching kalapani and other areas , to China by considering Ladakh as union territory, by annoying Bangladesh. Revoking 370 and change in demographics of Kashmir has ignited the problem. In fact India is now following RSS Agenda, and doesn’t care for other minorities.
Typical Pakistani ranting. First get your country out of FATF grey listing and then speak here.
True Islamist view of India. To express so openly, you must be an Indian Musalman. India never occupied any land. It’s your new friend and friend of Uighur Muslims who is doing the unexpected during a world crisis. We will teach Pak, Nepal and China together. You don’t worry.
So is the general saying that the Indian government should kneel down before a more powerful adversary?
It’s very convenient to comment and suggest. We need the generals like Sagat Singh who put his all stakes at risk in retaining the Nathu La. All of us can be good analyst in retrospect. But the real differentiator is one who is pro-active and demonstrate actions on the ground and not only through articles post retirement.
Yes Maj Gen. Sagar Singh, Gen K Sundarji and Field Marshal S Manekshaw are the military iron men along with so many that we need to give a befitting reply to the Chinese aggressor !
Sir, as per your assessment the superior army is showing unilateral aggression. In this situation what should the inferior army do as per your understanding of the “art of war”. Also in 1962 as per Zhang Guozhu, Indian army had bad defence, colthing, weapons etc. How come even after 40 years the situation is same? With two extremely aggressive neighbors how long do you think the India defense can hold on a 2 front war in present situation ?. Why is it that the Indian defense is always preactive and not pro active. Don’t you think that, it’s should be no surprise that the enemy has taken advantage of weak defense India has.
On top of all the army made the cardinal mistake of trusting the emeny and declaring publicly that they won’t do the routine exercise which is done in Laddak on annual basis due to Chinese-virus.

Gen Inquilabi has lost it officially.
What is the Indian Army there for?
Just to show helplessness in front of a superior adversary?
