New Delhi: India have toppled Australia to become the Number 1 Test team in the ICC rankings, after they demolished the Aussies by an innings and 32 runs in the first match in Nagpur.

India are now “numero uno” in all three formats of the game.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who took eight wickets in the Nagpur game, is now second in the Test bowling rankings.

The 36-year-old is 21 points behind Australian captain Pat Cummins, who tops the bowling table.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who took seven wickets in the Nagpur Test, has also moved up the table.

Captain Rohit Sharma also climbed two spots – from 10 to 8 — after his brilliant century in the first Test.
