London, Jul 11 (PTI) India were 30 for no loss at tea after bowling out England for 170 in the first innings of the one-off women’s Test at the iconic Lord’s here on Saturday.
Indian bowlers led by pacer Kranti Gaud (5/37) produced stellar show to bundle out England for 170 in their first innings.
It was Gaud’s maiden fifer in red-ball format.
India, thus, took 115 runs lead in the first innings after being bowled out for 285 on Friday.
Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana (10 not out) and Shafali Verma (14 not out) were at the crease as the final break of the day as India extended their over all lead to 145 runs.
For England, wicketkeeper batter Amy Jones (52) and skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt (44) played solid knocks but they were not enough for the home side on the day.
Earlier resuming at the overnight score of 21 for 1, England lost three wickets in the opening session in the form of Maia Bouchier, Heather Knight and Alice Capsey.
